Technické předpisy
Pokyny k právním předpisům týkajícím se biocidních přípravků 98/8/EC (MANUAL OF DECISIONS FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF DIRECTIVE 98/8/EC CONCERNING THE PLACING ON THE MARKET OF BIOCIDAL PRODUCTS), se v kapitole 2.3.13. zabývají analýzou účinků oxidu titaničitého a vyjímají jej ze seznamu biocidních látek.
Technická normalizace
Technická normalizace v oboru fotokatalytických materiálů a fotoakatalýzy je soustředěna na mezinárodní úrovni do technických komisí ISO/TC 229 Nanotechnologie a ISO/TC 206 Jemná keramika WG 37 Zkušební metody pro fotokatalytické materiály a na evropské úrovni do technických komisí CEN/TC 352 Nanotechnologie a CEN/TC 386 Fotokatalýza.
ISO/TC 229 byla založena v roce 2005, ISO/TC 206/WG 37 v roce 2002, CEN/TC 352 v roce 2005 a CEN/TC 386 v roce 2008.
Na národní úrovni byla v roce 2008 založena TNK 144 Nanotechnologie, která má v současnosti cca 25 členů, zastupujících převážně vysoké školy, výzkumné instituce, organizace státní správy.
